Ambrish Gupta

Dr. Ambrish Gupta, M.Com., Ph.D., FCA, is Senior Professor and Chairman of Finance Area at FORE School of Management, New Delhi. He obtained his Ph.D. in Inflation Accounting. Dr Gupta possesses 24 years of experience in industry, capital markets, consultancy, teaching, research and academic administration. He has been teaching at FORE for the last seven years and he was nominated by FORE for the Best Teacher's Award from the Association of Indian Management Schools in 2001. He has been the Programme Director—PGDBM and PGDIM programmes—for working managers for two years at FORE. He has also worked on consultancy assignments as well on behalf of FORE. Before joining FORE, Dr Gupta held top management positions in the merchant banking industry, where his primary areas of functioning were financial analysis, corporate finance, investment banking, project appraisal and equity research. Dr Gupta is associated with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) as a resource person in various capacities. He has been a nominated member of the Capital Market Committee of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry since early 2002. He was the convener of the Capital Management/Financial Markets Study Group of the Northern India Regional Council of the ICAI in 1999 and 2000. Dr Gupta has interest in and specialises in strategic financial statement analysis and shareholder value creation, accounting standards and their impact on the quality of financial reporting and disclosures, merchant banking, project appraisal and finance, inflation accounting and corporate valuations. Apart from Financial Accounting for Management: An Analytical Perspective, he has also published another book Inflation Accounting: The Indian Context and numerous research papers in leading refereed research journals.
