Shubha Subramaniam worked as a math and science teacher in reputed schools of Bombay, Goa and Chennai for 18 years and as a special educator for 6 years in The Ashram and AMM Matriculation School in Chennai. She started School for Appropriate Learning, Goa in 1986, Aashray Centre for Rehabilitation, Navi Mumbai in 1990 and Remedial Education Center for Diagnosis and Rehabilitation of Children with Learning Disorders at AMM Matriculation School, Chennai. She also finished a certificate course in Audiovisual Language and Films at St.Xavier's Institute of Mass Communication, Bombay.
