Sumita Kale is Chief Economist with Indicus Analytics. She has been visiting faculty at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Department of Economics, University of Pune and the National Insurance Academy. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2002 from the University of Pune and her M.Phil. (in economics of developing countries) in 1992 from the University of Cambridge, UK. She has a number of publications to her credit including chapters in edited volumes, papers in journals and articles published in Mint, Business Standard, Financial Express, The Indian Express and Outlook Money. She is a recipient of the Overseas Development Administration Award granted by the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust and Janeway Graduate Bursary granted by Pembroke College, Cambridge.
