Rajiv Balakrishnan

Dr Rajiv Balakrishnan has been on the faculty of the Council for Social Development for the past 14 years. During 1987-88, he was based at the East-West Population Institute, Honolulu, where he completed part of his doctoral work. His interests extend to the processes by which knowledge is constructed, consensus manufactured and perceptions formed—themes that have been the focus of the lectures he has delivered at the Council's yearly research methods course. Books edited by him include Jharkhand Matters: Essays in Ethnicity, Regionalism and Development.
