Dr Ishwar Singh Tyagi is an Emeritus Professor of Physics at IIT Roorkee. After completing his Ph.D. in 1976 from the University of Roorkee (now IIT Roorkee), he joined the Department of Physics there, as a faculty member and became Professor in 1996. His assignments, as post-doctoral as well as visiting scientist, took him to the New University of Ulster (NUU), Coleraine, in North Ireland and the Freie Universitat, Berlin.
