Mr. Sidharth Balakrishna holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta and an Economics (Hons) degree from the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University. He has ~13 years of experience in the Sustainability, energy, infrastructure and social sectors and is currently a Senior Director with Manthan Advisors.
He has earlier been a Strategy Consultant with Accenture and KPMG and a part of the Commercial,  Strategy and Regulatory team at BG India and Strategy team of Cairn India respectively.
He is a published author, having written five books with Pearson, the world's largest publishing house and numerous journal articles. He is also a regular columnist for the Economic Times and other respected publications.
In the past, he has led a number of external and internal strategic initiatives pertaining to Sustainability for Cairn India, one of India's largest oil and gas firms including in the field of renewable energy, water and vocational training. This includes leading an initiative to establish ~350 safe drinking water units in the Barmer district of Rajasthan, which is perhaps the largest such water initiative in the world impacting over a million people and helping conceive and establish the state-of-the-art vocational training centre called the Cairn Centre of Excellence (CCOE). Both these projects have won a number of national and international recognitions.
